DESCRIPTION
The Municipal Park and Garden of the city Kilkis lack of connection and coherence between them due to significant reasons as the existing topography configuration, the street that crosses the two spaces and the strict perimetrical boundaries of the areas. The project aims to link these two spatial unities –the concept of spatial “osmosis” and “sliding” is introduced in order to form a coherent public space comprised of plantation and activities.
Main spatial compositional tools of the project are:
• the concept of the “bar” is introduced, a linear prismatic component that functions as the basic spatial element of the public space regeneration. It has standard width of 4m and its length varies, while its inclined façade is made of corten. Each “bar” offers a different quality of public space depending on its different paving (stabilized soil, green-softscape, water feature) and its different topography position (slopes, viewpoints, rest areas, connecting ramps)
• the installation of concrete pavement in all the areas while the street which crosses the spaces becomes a pedestrian one
• the clear structure of the plantation zones as main structural element of the square, aiming to strengthen the role of the existing trees and of the green element
• vertical reference points that supports the spatial coherence and function as orientation elements (individual Judas trees, water jets, light poles, existing busts).
• new uses accommodated in activity pockets that provide variety and are integrated into coheret public space
In regards to the façades of the existing kiosk, an independent light wooden structure that runs across all its sides and creates a second independent façade is introduced. This new element carries climbing plants and has wooden rotating blinds on the axes of the kiosk’s openings.

ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
Το Δημοτικό Πάρκο και ο Κήπος του Κιλκίς παρουσιάζουν έλλειψη σύνδεσης και συνοχής μεταξύ τους λόγω της υψομετρικής τους διαφοράς, της οδού Βενιζέλου που διέρχεται ανάμεσα τους και των αυστηρών περιμετρικών ορίων των χώρων. Βασικός στόχος της παρέμβασης είναι η σύνδεση των δυο αυτών ενοτήτων – η ιδέα της «όσμωσης» και της «διολίσθησης» μεταξύ τους και η συγκρότηση τους σε ένα ενιαίο σύνολο πρασίνου και δραστηριοτήτων.
Βασικά χωρικά συνθετικά εργαλεία αποτελούν:
• η έννοια της «μπάρας», ενός γραμμικού πρισματικού στοιχείου που αποτελεί το βασικό συνθετικό στοιχείο οργάνωσης του χώρου. Έχει σταθερό πλάτος 4μ και μήκος που ποικίλει ενώ τα κεκλιμένα μέτωπα της ορίζονται από ημιοξειδωμένο χάλυβα. Κάθε «μπάρα» προσφέρει διαφορετικής ποιότητας δημόσιο χώρο με εναλλαγή σκληρών, πράσινων ή υδάτινων επιφανειών ενώ λόγω της υψομετρικής διαφοράς δημιουργούν άλλοτε πρανή, σημεία οπτικών φυγών, αναβαθμούς για ξεκούραση και άλλοτε ράμπες σύνδεσης.
• η έννοια δαπεδόστρωση όλων των χώρων και η πεζοδρομηση της ενδιάμεσης οδός Βενιζέλου
• η σαφής διάθρωση ζωνών φύτευσης ως δομικό συνθετικό στοιχείο με στόχο την ανάδειξη των υπαρχόντων δέντρων και την ενίσχυση του πράσινου
• τα κάθετα σημεία αναφοράς που έχουν ενοποιητικό χαρακτηρα που πρόκειται για σημειακά στοιχεία προσανατολισμού και κατεύθυνσης του βλέμματος (μεμονωμένες κουτσουπιές, πίδακες νερού, στύλοι φωτός, υπάρχουσες προτομές)
• Η ένταξη χρήσεων σε θύλακες δραστηριοτήτων που προσδίδουν ποικιλία και είναι αρμονικά ενταγμένοι σε ένα ενιαίο σύνολο.
Για τη διερεύνηση των νέων όψεων του αναψυκτηρίου επιλέγεται μια ανεξάρτητη ελαφριά ξύλινη κατασκευαστική ενότητα που διατρέχει τις όψεις. Αποτελεί το πλαίσιο που αναπτύσσονται αναρριχώμενα φυτά ενώ διαθέτει ξύλινες περιστρεφόμενες περσίδες στον άξονα των ανοιγμάτων.
